The Dune book series adaptation must be so incredibly tempting and for so many reasons. A space opera series that will eventually build to the hero becoming an oppressive dictator? Who could want anything more? After going back through every Dune adaptation (that has happened so far), I think I can safely conclude that some books are just not meant to be adapted into movies or television shows. It’s been approached in a number of ways, and none of them are all that inspiring. I am however a sicko and will keep slopping up this shit.

It seems like more of these films are on the way. I will update the list as they do.

There is something terribly wrong with the world, and it is destroying us from the inside out.
Paul Schrader is one of the most interesting and talented auteurs since the 70s. Despite having a clear style, a prolific filmography, and a long record of great works over six decades, he somehow has missed out on the accolades and the financial success that many of his peers have experienced. First Reformed and a morbidly hilarious Facebook account have given him increased success and notoriety in the last chapter of his career. He’s also pretty close to being truly uncancelable so it should be smooth sailings from here on out for him to be remembered as one of the greats.

Martin Scorsese has a genuine case as being the greatest filmmaker ever from the United States (and he only has a few genuine competitors for that title). His pictures are just absolutely beautiful tributes to humanity and the pain we cause ourselves and each other.
