The Tape Crusaders – Episode #18: Zack Snyder’s Justice League

After 3 long years, The Snyder Cut has been unleashed, which means it’s time to dust off The Tape Crusaders so Mike & Matt can talk Batman (but mostly everyone else). Featuring two references to Lost, some heavy shade towards award-winning writers and a full reading of the Anti-Life Equation.

Jerome and Brian come back to superheroes for an end of the year special as they discuss HBO’s huge Watchmen adaptation that takes its cues from the graphic novel and less so from the 2009 film. The duo discusses why this television series is worth assessing for the Pantheon.

Then the final 30 minutes are a discussion of Wonder Woman 1984. Find out their very spoiler filled thoughts on a mixed bag of a movie to say the least.

The Superhero Pantheon Vol. 2 – Episode 5: Wonder Woman (2017)

WW Trench

Jerome and Brian step back into the DCEU for the first time in their Reel World run. This is where Warner Bros. seemingly started to get things right as Patty Jenkins put together one of the best 3/4 of a comic book movie of the modern era with great characters and a powerful love story. Is the ending bad enough to prevent this from going into the Pantheon? Continue reading The Superhero Pantheon Vol. 2 – Episode 5: Wonder Woman (2017)

New Frontier.jpeg

Mike & Matt’s loooooooong journey through the pantheon of Batman on-screen is finally drawing to a close, but before we reach our final destination it’s time for a quick stop in a corner of the Batverse that we haven’t really covered so far: The Justice League. Rather than squeeze another 8 episodes out of Tape Crusaders, Mike let Matt pick his favourite of the bunch and that was The New Frontier. Five Things About Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice That Do Not Completely Suck

After finally (and begrudgingly) re-watching the latest installment of the DC Extended Universe, I decided to find some elements of the film that were not completely without merit. The film itself was still largely unpleasant and tedious to experience. However, there were a few key details or ideas (mostly on the margins) that struck me as being NOT AWFUL. Without further ado, I present the Five Things About Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice That Do Not Completely Suck.
