Untitled BoJack Horseman Project: Episode 3

All aboard the Oscar Train, because against all odds BoJack is in the running for Best Actor! We meet his ruthless publicist, Ana Spanakopita, Todd’s ex-girlfriend, Emily, Princess Carolyn’s new boyfriend, Ralph, and the enigmatic Cuddlywhiskers.

Some minor disagreement when comparing Seasons 2 and 3, but as always we select our two favourite episodes, Ben tries to remember all the plots without any notes and we take a stab at the litany of tongue-twisters.

The Superhero Pantheon: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Yes, we know it’s probably way too early to put this move up for Pantheon eligibility but gosh darn it, Across the Spider-Verse is pretty much an instant classic. Both Brian and Jerome absolutely love the artwork, music and story. It’s perhaps a little too long, but that doesn’t kill the flow of the film.

Marvel Mondays – Loki: Season 2 Review

Even one of Marvel’s most successful projects wasn’t safe from their downward trajectory, with Loki suffering from a sophomore slump. But worse Loki is still better than most of their stuff and they definitely stuck the landing to salvage the show’s reputation.

Jerome & Kevin Present – Cancelled Too Soon: GLOW (Season 2)

Season 2 of GLOW came at an interesting time. As Jerome and Kevin discuss the season, they also discuss how the #MeToo movement happening in modern day was reflected in a show taking place in the 1980s.

They also talk about improvements from the first season and other things they wish could have been improved, a couple of new additions to the cast, what story elements could’ve been omitted, and why Jerome seems Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart in the two main characters.

BoJack’s book is a hit, and so is this podcast! Okay one of those things is true. BoJack films his dream movie, Mr. Peanutbutter has a new hit show, Diane takes down a beloved public figure, Princess Carolyn starts her own agency and Todd wins big in copyright court.

We break down the new recurring characters and surprisingly big name cameos, Ben tries to remember the plot of every episode, we each pick a favourite episode, and of course try to tackle some tongue twisters.

The Superhero Pantheon: Loki (Season 1 & 2)

Jerome and Brian continue their MCU binge with Loki, Seasons 1 and 2! Based on the positive reactions to the finale, they decided to call an audible and review the series as a whole. They discuss some of the more frustrating parts of the show while also praising the sets and music. Plus they give their thoughts on Key Lime Pie!

For years Ben & Matt’s podcasting White Whale has been BoJack Horseman and now it’s finally time to get stuck in as they introduce the show in general and break down Season One.

We meet our core cast, establish some regular segments, discuss how long it takes to get into the debut season and get into our favourite episode… which may be a surprise pick.

The Superhero Pantheon: WandaVision (Rewatch)

Jerome and Brian are taking a stroll through sitcom history through the guise of WandaVision, the first MCU show in history and boy was the buzz big.

Both may disagree on the direction of Wanda, but both are very high on the performances and the music. They also talk a bit about the current changes in Marvel TV. Are they “Making it Up as They Go Along?”.

Ranking the Sofia Coppola Films

Sofia Coppola, to be reductive, is one of the greatest nepotism babies in the history of Hollywood. The biggest thing that I appreciate about Sofia is that she has a deep understanding of her lane and what she knows best about the human experience, and she capitalizes on that and mostly only that to beautiful art. Acknowledging limitations is difficult, but Sofia makes it look easy.
