Nearly 8 years ago Mike & Matt dropped their first ever podcast reviewing X-Men. Since then Reel World podcasting grew and added more shows and hosts, but it’s now finally time to bring things to an end… of sorts.

We wouldn’t think of a more appropriate finale than to have the original hosts re-reviewing their first movie, and looking at how dramatically different superhero movies (and just blockbuster movies in general) have changed over the years.

Ben & Matt’s Marvellous Journey – Episode 43: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (aka The End)

Hey wait a minute, Guardians 3 wasn’t the first MCU project of 2023, and it’s not 2024 yet! Why is there a new episode of Marvellous Journey?

Well imaginary listener who is unrealistically invested on our sporadic podcast, the answer is we’re kiiiind of bringing the show to an end and decided to go out on a high note. We did still discuss the rest of the 2023 films and shows but in a lightning-round fashion.

So for probably the last time lets discuss the villains, the ending and who the final entries on the All-Marvel List are as our beloved space-faring scumbags wave farewell and James Gunn heads over to DC.

The Superhero Pantheon: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (and The Holiday Special)

For the last five years, Jerome and Brian have been hooked on a feeling… that being reviewing and discussing a long list of superhero movies to determine the very best (and worst) for the Superhero Pantheon (or pile of shame).

This week, they discuss one last movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While there will be a series finale and two more episodes of Pantheon Plus, this is a rather significant episode. There is even a ten minute preamble as Jerome and Brian discuss the holiday special.

The Superhero Pantheon: Iron Man 3 (2023 Rewatch)

A movie that is already in the Superhero Pantheon, Iron Man 3 has been a debated film all across this website. It’s only fitting that Jerome and Brian finally review the movie, even though they lost the deadpool bet and put it into the Pantheon by way of gambling with fictional people’s lives.

The Superhero Pantheon: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Yes, we know it’s probably way too early to put this move up for Pantheon eligibility but gosh darn it, Across the Spider-Verse is pretty much an instant classic. Both Brian and Jerome absolutely love the artwork, music and story. It’s perhaps a little too long, but that doesn’t kill the flow of the film.

Marvel Mondays – Loki: Season 2 Review

Even one of Marvel’s most successful projects wasn’t safe from their downward trajectory, with Loki suffering from a sophomore slump. But worse Loki is still better than most of their stuff and they definitely stuck the landing to salvage the show’s reputation.

The Superhero Pantheon: Loki (Season 1 & 2)

Jerome and Brian continue their MCU binge with Loki, Seasons 1 and 2! Based on the positive reactions to the finale, they decided to call an audible and review the series as a whole. They discuss some of the more frustrating parts of the show while also praising the sets and music. Plus they give their thoughts on Key Lime Pie!
