Ranking the Resident Evil Films

The Resident Evil franchise is something I have had my eye on for a long time. I missed them all in the theater, and I am absolutely a Johnny-come-lately when it comes to the greatness of the films and Paul W.S. Anderson. Better late than never (I hope).

But yea, so these films are so much fun and do the #1 most important thing for me when it comes to franchises: each film feels different and unique.

Even with my beloved Fast/Furious and Mission: Impossible franchises, a lot of franchises “figure out” how to make a successful version of what they are doing and then just do it over and over again. (The PWS Anderson) Resident Evil series mostly avoided that entirely.

5 Takeaways from Re-Watching James Cameron’s Avatar

I remember watching Avatar in the theaters on the day after Christmas in 2009 and being completely underwhelmed. The film was very obviously bad. For a long time, it seemed like its legacy was going to be making more money than anything else and spawning a truly uninspired wave 3-D cash-ins. 4 Takeaways from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Evil billionaire, Jeff Bezos, wanted “his Game of Thrones” and spent a billion dollars or whatever on this Lord of the Rings show. So obviously it does seem unethical to watch this show.

Between that dynamic and being a big fan of Peter Jackson’s LOTR film adaptations (but definitely not the Hobbit films) and an admirer of Tolkien in general, it seemed like I was just gonna pass on this show altogether. Life is simply too short.
